Scores injured in a bomb explosion in Manhattan, New York USA

An explosion from a suspected homemade bomb that ripped through Manhattan in New York City in USA on Saturday night has left at least 29 people injured and police officers investigating a second suspected bomb found within the area.

‘New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters early indications are that the explosion at 23rd Street and 6th Avenue in Manhattan that injured 29 “was an intentional act.” Investigators believe the blast was caused by an explosive device in or near a dumpster, a law enforcement source told CNN.’

According to the Mayor there is no evidence at this point of a terror connection” and there is no “credible and specific threat” to New York City. He further added that at least 24 people have been taken to the hospital but none of the casualties are likely to die from their injuries since none of the injuries are life threatening.

There is no specific connection between the bomb and an earlier incident in New Jersey, where an explosion went off in a garbage can on the route of a Marine Corps charity run according to the Mayor.
