Further updates on former Israeli President Shimon Peres’ condition: Bleeding spreading throughout his brain

Shimon Peres, Israel’s 9th President, was admitted to Tel HaShomer Hospital this evening after suffering a serious stroke. The CT he underwent earlier revealed that the bleeding is continuing to spread throughout Peres’ brain and it seems that there is no substantial treatment that can prevent this.peresillstokenightIsrael’s 9th President, 93-year-old Shimon Peres, was transported to Sheba Hospital at Tel HaShomer this evening (Tuesday) due to a serious stroke he suffered. He is currently sedated and on respiration despite the statement his office gave saying that he is in stable condition and is fully conscious. Peres underwent a CT earlier which revealed that the bleeding is continuing to spread throughout his brain and it seems that there is no substantial treatment that can prevent this.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received an update from the Sheba Hospital Director and wrote on Facebook: “I wish former president Shimon Peres a speedy recovery. Shimon, we love you and the entire nation is wishing you good health.” Opposition leader MK Isaac Herzog also wished Peres a speedy recovery.

Just last week, JOL reported that Peres received an artificial pacemaker following a series of incidents during which he felt ill due to an abnormal heart rhythm. In addition, Peres was diagnosed with an abnormal heart rhythm in January while he was being hospitalized for feeling ill.
